Description

Denbie is an early Victorian villa built in a late classical style using Bath stone. The building has two storeys and features two-storey bows on the north and west sides, topped with a balustraded parapet. The bows contain tall cross-casement windows, with pilasters on the first floor and moulded panels below, while the ground floor has architraves with brackets supporting a band.

On the west front, there is a bow to the left, a blind window, two glazing bar sash windows, and a later service wing to the right. The north front bow is flanked by windows, with eared architraves on the first floor and brackets supporting a band on the ground floor. Steps lead to a patio in the centre of the bow.

The east front, which serves as the entrance, has three windows across. The central section is slightly recessed and features an eared architrave on the first floor with sash windows, and carved brackets supporting a band on the ground floor. The central first-floor window is flanked by two Corinthian pilasters on each side. A central projecting porch contains Corinthian columns set within Doric piers, a cornice, and a balustraded parapet. The round-headed doorway has narrow sidelights, creating a Palladian motif within a round-headed recess, with a projecting lantern in the centre. To the left, there is a two-storey service wing.
