Description

The Hilbury Court Hotel, dating to circa 1800, is a two-storey building. It is constructed of stuccoed bath stone. A projecting string course runs along the first-floor level, topped by a small cornice and parapet with projecting coping. Flanking pilasters add to the facade's structure. The roof is hipped and covered in slate. On the first floor, there are three sash windows recessed within the wall, each lacking glazing bars and featuring a cast iron balcony with a cast lead rosette ornament. The ground floor has two mullioned and transomed French casements recessed in an arch, along with a half-glazed central door set within a plain surround, approached by five steps to a Doric porch featuring two columns with an entwined coil, wall pilasters, an entablature, and a blocking course. An extension to the right is designed in the same style, with two first-floor windows incorporating balconies, one similar ground-floor window, and an arched stable entry to the right. Two square stone gate piers with incised battered panels and curved pediment caps mark the entrance.
