Description

The former entrance gates to Springfield House, which has since been demolished, date from the mid to late 19th century. This triple gateway features reeded drafting on the piers, which are topped with a pulvinated frieze and a modillion cornice, adorned with segmental gables and circular bases. The side gates are set under semi-circular arches, with a rough triglyph frieze above. The main gates include wrought iron panels on the sides and grouped rails, with a central top-knob.
