Description

This building, located on Hilperton Road, is believed to have been constructed in 1827. It was originally designed as three houses and now comprises four ranges. The building is two storeys with an attic and basement. It is constructed of Bath ashlar stone, featuring draughted corner piers, a band above the ground floor and a shallower band above the first floor, leading to projecting eaves of a hipped slate roof. There are two stone chimneys and one small two-light dormer window. The original windows are glazing bar sashes with marginal glazing; a later extension to the southwest has different windows. Number 27 has a three-window return with a projecting porch on a balustraded terrace and a round-headed doorway. Number 28 features a central entrance in the return, complete with cast iron supports for a lobby above and a traceried fanlight. Numbers 27 to 33, together with the street wall in front, form a notable group.
