WESTBURY EDWARD STREET 1. 5411 (West Side) No 12 ST 8751 SW 4/140

  1. Late C18/early C19, altered. 2 storeys, painted brick, with lower single storey extension to right. Modern concrete tiled roof, one brick chimney. Main part has 2 late sash windows on lst floor with moulded stone keys. The right hand part has a glazing bar sash on ground floor linked by narrow fascia to rest of shop front. Main shop front of 3+3 lights flanking double doors. House door to right, half glazed with overlight, Victorian foot scraper to right. Remains of pier strip separates Nos 12 and 14 and has brick dentil band on it. Gable end wall of No 12 has, inside, a massive truss (from former No 10). Single storey extension to West, pantiled. No 12 was once linked if not the same house as No 14, evidence for this survives in 3 C18 gabled 2 1/2 storey extensions with mansard roofs and pigeon openings in gable, 2 of which are at back ef No 14 and one at back of No 12.
