Description

The Westbury Post Office, located on Edward Street, dates from the early 19th century. It is a two-storey building constructed of brick with a projecting stone plinth. A painted stone string course runs along the first floor level, and the building has wide eaves and a hipped slate roof. The front facade features four windows with glazing bar sashes, with irregular spacing on the first floor. The ground floor originally had three large windows, now modern steel replacements, to the left. There is a six-panel door with a small radiating and wreathed fanlight, an altered window, and one panel to the right, and a blind window on the right side. A double ridge roof is present. A rear "L" shaped extension features a modillion brick cornice and two flat-topped dormers with cornices and two-light glazing bar casements.
