Description
No 20 Edward Street is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and is constructed of painted brick with brick flat arches and a slate roof. On the first floor, there are two glazing bar sash windows. The left side of the building has an uneven join at an angle with No 24. There are two shop windows; to the right is a mid-19th-century shop front featuring two windows flanking a central entrance, with a common fascia supported by pilaster strips. To the left, there is a wide plate glass shop window. A segmental arch leads to a through passage located to the left of centre, and the passage wall retains a stud from an early timber-framed house that may date back to the 17th century. At the rear, there is a two-storey lean-to with a tiled roof.
