Description
No. 18 Edward Street is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall, constructed of red brick with a hipped tiled roof and a single chimney. The building extends back from the street, featuring an additional front at the rear.
The street-facing side has a parapet with a stone coping. The stone lintels are grooved to resemble flat arches. On the first floor, there are two windows with glazing bar sashes set in flush frames. The ground floor has a door to the left, which features six moulded panels and an over-light above. To the right, there is a large rectangular shop window with a moulded frame and a cast iron knocker in the shape of a hand and wreath.
At the rear, the building is formed by a cottage extension, which includes two ranges of two-light windows. The ground floor windows have small part glazing bar casements, while the first floor features one sash per window with glazing bars. The central door on the ground floor has four panels and plain brackets supporting a hood. A small garden is enclosed by a brick wall and is accessed via a passage to the left of No. 20.
