Description
No. 12 Mardol Head is a shop building, now divided into two shops, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick, with the roof not visible behind a parapet. The building has four storeys and features a three-window range. Late 20th-century shop fronts have been inserted, with the one on the right being continuous with the adjacent property, No. 13. The upper windows are two-pane sashes, two of which have been renewed, and they have flat-arched gauged brick heads set in round-arched recesses. There is a continuous stuccoed sill at the first floor level. Above, there are three 12-pane sashes with flat-arched gauged brick heads, and six panes in the attic. The building is topped with a stuccoed eaves cornice that has modillions, and there is a gable end stack.
