Description
South Mill Cottage is an 18th-century house situated on an elevated bank. The walls are constructed of brick, laced with knapped flint and chalk, and faced in brickwork using a Flemish bond pattern. The roof is tiled. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay arrangement. A plat band and brick dentilled eaves are present. The central entrance features a six-panelled door sheltered by a canopy supported on cut brackets. The windows are 12-paned sashes with wide, flush surrounds, though one ground-floor window has been replaced with a four-paned sash. An outshut extends from the rear of the property. Gable stacks are visible. The interior includes an open fireplace in the south gable and fielded panelling on the stair balustrade.
