Description
The Simpkins Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 5 meters east of the chancel of the Church of St Peter. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a hipped table and has inset fluted corner balusters topped with urns. In the center, there is a draped urn that divides raised panels, which bear inscriptions for Isaac and Jane Simpkins, who died in 1824 and 1846 respectively, along with additional inscriptions for others.
