Description
The Old Rectory and stables is a rectory, now a house, built around 1810-1815. It is constructed of Bath limestone ashlar and has slate roofs. The building is two storeys high and features a main block with three bays, including a central porch that is crenellated and buttressed, with a boarded door that has false iron hinges. There is a plat band, and the windows are two-light with square labels and timber frames that have pointed arched lights. To the left of the porch, a ground floor window has been replaced with a 12-paned sash, and similar sashes are found on the side elevation. To the right of the main block, there is a two-bay wing with matching windows and a gable stack. A lean-to is located at the end, and there is a basement floor beneath with sash windows and a pair of doors. At the rear of the house, there is a long stable wing that forms a courtyard on the right side of the house.
