Description
Everleigh Manor is a manor house that was later used as laboratories and administrative offices for the Royal Army Medical Corps before reverting back to a private residence. It dates from the 18th century and was refurbished in 1882 by John Birch. The building features Flemish bond brickwork with a stone frieze, cornice, and parapet, topped by a slate hipped roof. Originally, it had two storeys and five bays, but it has been extended to nine bays. The central entrance is marked by a slender Ionic portico supported by four columns, topped with a pediment. There are round arched double doors with fanlights, and plate glass sash windows with segmental brick arches. The three central bays also feature a pediment, and there is an additional bay set back at the south end. Inside, the manor has a wide entrance hall with a triple arched arcade leading to the rear, an open well stair, a carved timber fireplace, and panelling, all from the 1882 refurbishment.
