- C18. Tall 3-storey building of chequer brick on moulded stone plinth with narrow red brick vertical dressing to windows. Rusticated stone pilasters, whole height, at angles and framing central bay. Moulded and bracketed cornice, brick parapet with moulded stone coping and stone blocks over pilasters. Hipped slate roof. 5 windows to upper floors. 4 windows on ground floor and central door of 6 fielded panels with rectangular fanlight, 4 oval panes, in stone bolection architrave surround, with carved scroll brackets supporting stone cornice and broken pediment with central ball. All windows have bolection surrounds and stone sills. Ground and 1st floor windows have additional curved frieze and cornice. Very fine front.
Nos 23 to 41 (consec) and the part of the National Westminster Old Bank in Market Place form a very fine group.
