Description

Number 24, known as "Torwood," and Numbers 26 to 34 on Boreham Road in Warminster are a terrace of three-storey houses with basements, likely built before 1822. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature incised stone pilasters at the corners and between the houses that extend to full height. Number 24 has a moulded cornice and a brick parapet with stone coping, along with incised corner blocks. The other houses have flat eaves supported by cut brackets. The roofs are slate, with an old tile butterfly type at the rear, hipped to the left and over Number 24, and there are off-ridge brick chimneys.

The houses have glazing bar sash windows, which are single hung on the second floor. Most windows and doors have pediment-shaped voussoir heads, except for the second floor of Number 24. Number 24 features a projecting bay to the right with a range of tripartite windows to the left and a slight setback to the right for a recessed six-panel door with a plain fanlight (previously noted tracery has been removed) and one window above. The remaining houses have two ranges of windows on the upper floors and one on the ground floor. Numbers 26 to 30 have six-panel doors with four-pane overlights. The ground floor window of Number 34 has been altered to a large late 19th-century rectangular nine-light bay. The areas in front of the houses are enclosed by cast iron railings, which include dog railings looped by arrowheads to the main rails.
