Description
Nos 9 and 10 Devizes Road are a pair of mid-19th century houses, now used as offices. They are constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and feature a low pitched hipped slate roof. Each house has two storeys and an attic, and they are two extended bays wide. The entrance is located at the center of the block, sheltered by a conjoined bracketed hood. Inside, there is a stair hall and a rear wing.
On the ground floor, there are two-light ashlar bay windows with a cornice that contains 2-pane sashes, with the center light being wider. A plat band runs along the building. The first floor features lugged architraves around the paired 2-pane sashes, which are positioned above the bay window. The rear attic has a gable. This pair of houses is noted as the most complete remaining example in a street that was once lined with similar properties.
