Description

Nos 7 and 8 Church Green are a pair of houses, now used as offices, dating from the late 18th century with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature concrete-tiled roofs along with large brick chimney stacks. They rise to three storeys and are topped with a dentilled eaves cornice.

The façade consists of six bays, with windows that have stone sills. The left ground floor and all first floor windows feature stepped rusticated lintels with corniced keyblocks. The third and fifth bays on the ground floor have tripartite windows fitted with plain sashes and stepped rusticated lintels. The left ground floor window and four first floor windows are 16-pane sashes, while the first floor window in the fourth bay is blind, showcasing an original recessed panel of brickwork. The first floor window in the fifth bay has a 4-pane sash, and the second floor contains four 8-pane sashes along with two 2-light casements in the left two bays.

The main entrances are located in the second and fourth bays, each featuring moulded architraves and flat canopies, with 6-panelled doors—three of which are raised—and plain transom lights above. There is also a wide carriage archway with a cambered head and moulded keyblock in the sixth bay. The interior has not been inspected.
