Description

Tockington Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, which was refronted and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with brick dressings and has a rendered rear. The roof is made of asbestos slate and features gable stacks, along with a stack to the right of the front door. The building is L-shaped, including a former dairy wing at the rear, a through passage, and a 19th-century wing to the right. It has two storeys and an attic, with six windows, all of which are 19th-century 12-pane sashes set in gauged brick heads and surrounds, except for one first-floor window on the left that lacks a surround. There is a 19th-century porch and door in the third bay from the left, and a 19th-century extension to the left. The rear of the farmhouse features irregular 19th-century windows and three dormers. Inside, the ground floor to the right has a former large fireplace with a cupboard door leading to the inglenook, and there is a 17th-century door with a strap hinge located at the rear of the through passage. Additionally, there is a barn to the rear (east) that is said to contain Roman walling.
