Description

This chest tomb, dating from the early to mid-18th century, is located 15 metres north of the north-west corner of the War Memorial Lych Gate on Church Road in Yate. It is made of limestone ashlar and features a provincial baroque style, characterized by enriched pilasters, a pulvinated frieze, and a moulded cornice. The panels are inscribed but the inscriptions are illegible. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb forms and significantly enhances the setting of the church.
