YATE CHURCH ROAD (west side) Chest tomb 15 metres north of north west corner of War Memorial Lych Gate
(Formerly listed as Chest Tomb, 12 yards south of south transept of St Mary's Church)
GV II Chest Tomb. Early-mid C18. Limestone ashlar. Provincial baroque style with enriched pilasters, pulvinated frieze and moulded cornice; illegible inscribed panels. The chest tombs represent a good collection of local and classical tomb forms and contribute greatly to the setting of the church.
