Description
The White Lion is a house that has been converted into a public house. It dates from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. The exterior is rendered and features a Bridgewater tile roof with coped raised verges and ashlar ridge stacks. The building has two storeys and attics, with four 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor and three cross windows on the first floor. The entrance is off-centre to the left, featuring a 20th-century door and a gabled projecting porch. Inside, the former cross passage leads to a room on the left, which has a framed ceiling with double ogee moulded beams and converging stops. The roof structure includes tie and collar beam trusses with slots for the now-removed windbraces.
