Description

This is a pair of two-storey houses, numbers 25 and 27, built in the mid-19th century and situated above Hill Road. The building ends are accentuated by triangular pediments. The front façade is largely whitewashed, with a roughly-detailed cornice and a stringcourse above the ground floor. The houses have five windows, and number 27 features wooden shutters and a trellised verandah incorporating an anthemion motif. Number 25 extends to the right with a later, two-storey, three-window bowed front, rendered in smooth plaster, and a further two-window rubble extension. Numbers 25, 27 and 29, along with Cliff House, the United Reformed Church Hall and number 37, form a notable group.
