Description

This is a group of three houses, now offices, built in the early to mid-19th century. Numbers 6 and 7 on the right are stucco-faced, while number 8 on the left has limestone ashlar cladding. They have a half-hipped slate roof with a brick ridge stack on number 7. Numbers 6 and 7 each have a two-unit plan and a two-window front. Number 8 has a central stairhall plan and its front faces the garden at a right angle to the street, with a symmetrical three-window range.

The exterior of numbers 6 and 7 feature raised surrounds to the 8/8-pane sash windows. Number 6 is slightly higher than number 7, with the roofline continuous with that of number 7. Number 6 has a six-panel door glazed to the top situated to the right of centre. Number 7 has a similar door, sheltered by a hood on brackets, to the right. Number 8 has a cornice, a blocking course, pilasters, and lintel bands. It features 6/6-pane sash windows, with the central window having a semicircular arch. The mid-19th century half-glazed front door with margin panes has edge-roll moulding. The facade of number 8, facing south and at a right angle to the street, has a 19th-century cast-iron trellised verandah and a 20th-century swept canopy. The left return of number 8, facing The Causeway, has a single window.

The interiors have been altered. Also included in the listing are a pair of gate piers, the right-hand one attached to the southwest corner of number 8, that have reeded cornices and pyramidal caps.
