Description
3 The Causeway is a 17th-century house that has been converted into two shops. The building features painted roughcast over limestone rubble and has a steeply-pitched stone slate roof with no visible chimneys. It is designed with a two-unit central-entry plan and is a single storey with an attic, displaying a two-window range.
The exterior includes two prominent forward-facing full dormers, which have 19th-century three-light casement windows. A continuous gutter supported by wrought-iron brackets is located at the sill level of these dormers. The central shop entrance has painted cyma-moulded jambs and is flanked by modern shop windows, with the right window incorporating a door. The interior has been altered, and the upper floors are not accessible.
