Description
Number 4 The Causeway is a 17th-century house that has been converted into two shops. It features a timber-frame construction, now covered with roughcast on a limestone rubble ground floor, and has a stone slate roof with no visible chimneys. The building has a right-angle plan with two gables from parallel ranges that face the road, along with rear extensions. The exterior is three storeys high and has a two-window range. The upper floors contain 19th-century two-over-two-pane sash windows set in forward frames, while the two gables extend forward from a range at the back. The shop fronts were added in the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
