Description

Chideock Court is a single house located on the south side of Main Street in Chideock. It dates from the 17th century, with 18th century and 20th century rear extensions. The building features coursed lias ashlar walls and a slate roof with gable ends, along with a brick stack at the left-hand gable. It is two storeys high and has five sash windows with projecting keys and voussoirs. There is a dormer in the roof with wooden casements and a wooden door leading onto the main road, which is a 20th century addition with glass panels and a reeded pilaster surround. The house has large extensions from around 1920, designed in an early Tudor style, which now serve as the front of the house. Inside, there are heavy mid-chamfered beams from the 17th century, but the interior has been significantly altered and its original plan is no longer recoverable.

Attached to the house is a stone wall that runs for 40 meters along the road to the bridge. This wall features a pointed door at the center, topped with a brick arch.
