Description
This is an 18th-century cottage and house, named Apple Tree Cottage and Apple Tree Thatch, which are attached. Apple Tree Cottage has stone walls covered with a rendered and washed finish. It has a thatched roof with a catslide hip on the left-hand side. A 20th-century brick stack is located at the left end of the ridge. The cottage is one-and-a-half stories high and has three windows: 2-light and 3-light wooden casements with glazing bars, each with a wooden lintel above. The central front door is a 20th-century wooden door with beading, and a thatched canopy is supported by wooden brackets. Apple Tree Thatch is of similar materials to the cottage, with brick quoins on the right-hand side. It has two 20th-century brick stacks at the left and right gables. The house is two stories high and has three windows, mostly 3-light wooden casements with glazing bars. One window has a fixed leaded light at the top left. The front door, to the left of the centre, is a 20th-century plank door with six glass panels above.
