Description

Lilac Cottage is a single cottage dating from around 1800. It is constructed of coursed, squared Lias stone with a thatched roof and gable ends. Two 20th-century brick stacks are visible at the left and right hand gable ends. The cottage has two storeys and three windows, each featuring two-light wooden casements with glazing bars. Most of the original glass remains, and there are wooden cills. Stone voussoirs form the lintels over the windows. A wooden front door, dating from around 1800, is positioned centrally; it is made of wood with flush panels and two top lights. A small, later rear wing is present, rendered and with metal casements under a hipped thatch roof.
