Description
Chideock House Hotel is a building originally constructed as a single house in the early 17th century, now functioning as a hotel. It features coursed Lias ashlar walls and a thatched roof with gable ends and stone gable copings. There is a brick stack located at the right-hand gable. The building is two storeys tall and has three windows with stone mullions that have hollow chamfers, arranged in groups of three, four, and five lights, with 20th-century metal casements. The west gable has stone mullions that are partially blocked. The front doorway is located to the left of centre and has a stone surround with a slight hollow chamfer, leading to a 20th-century wooden door with multiple glass panels. At the east gable end, there is a thatched rear wing with a canted bay. Inside, there is an early 17th-century mid-chamfered beam with small fillets, and the fireplace in the right-hand room features a massive lintel with a straight chamfer.
