Description
43 East Street is a house in a row, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is rendered, with the rear wall constructed of English garden wall brickwork and features a double mansard tile roof. It has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with two windows. The front includes three flat-roofed 20th-century dormers, while the remaining windows are glazing-bar sashes.
On the left side, there is a full-height canted oriel window with a 6:9:6-pane configuration on the second floor and an 8:1:8-pane arrangement below. At the basement level, there is a full-width light with a protective grille. To the right, there are 12-pane sashes above a six-panel, part-glazed door that features a plain fanlight set in a deep reveal, accessed by four steps. The house has a plinth, a moulded cornice, a blocking course, and parapet coping, along with two large stacks on the left side. The rear of the building has a steep mansard slope and a large rendered eaves stack. The interior has not been inspected.
