NETHER COMPTON ST5917 NETHER COMPTON VILLAGE 13/64 The Thatched House 31.7.61 GV II Detached House. Late C17, refenestrated C20. Dressed stone walls, with renewed high pointing. Thatch roof with gable ends, stone gable- copings and shaped kneelers. C19 and C20 brick stacks at gable ends. Two storeys. 5 windows, including the blocking. C20 wood casements with glazing-bars. Wood cills and lintels. Plank door, left of centre, C20. Stone-built porch, with hipped thatch canopy over. (RCHM, Dorset I, p 102(7)).
