Description
The Thatched House is a detached house located in Nether Compton, dating from the late 17th century, with some changes made in the 20th century. The house features dressed stone walls that have been recently repointed. It has a thatched roof with gable ends, stone gable copings, and shaped kneelers. There are brick stacks from the 19th and 20th centuries at the gable ends. The house is two storeys high and has five windows, including some that have been blocked. The windows are 20th-century wood casements with glazing bars, and the wood cills and lintels are also present. To the left of the centre, there is a plank door from the 20th century. The entrance is enhanced by a stone-built porch that has a hipped thatch canopy above it.
