Description
Cowley House is a detached house located on Cowleaze Road in Broadmayne. The rear part of the house dates from the 18th century, while the front section was added or refaced in the early 19th century. The building features brick and stone walls that are rendered, and it has a thatched roof with gable ends and parallel ridges. There are brick stacks at the left gable, at the ridge left of center, and at the right gable. The house is two storeys tall with attics and has four sash windows with glazing bars, some of which were renewed in the 20th century. The ground floor windows have stone cills and cambered arches. Above the front door, there is a two-light small casement window. The front door, which is located to the left of center, has four panels and two top lights, and it has been altered in the 19th century. The entrance is sheltered by a gabled thatched porch with a square-headed entrance.
