Description

This is a late 17th-century cottage with alterations from the 18th century and replacement windows from the 20th century. It is built of coursed rubble stone with a thatched roof, featuring a stone gable coping. A brick chimney is located at the gable end, and another, more recent brick chimney is situated on the right-hand side, forming a party wall with another property. The cottage has two storeys and three windows. The ground floor windows to the left and centre are 2-light and 3-light casements made of 20th-century wood. The upper right-hand window is an 18th-century iron casement with lead lights, while the window above the front door is a 19th-century wood casement. The front door is a plank door with a single glazed panel, set within a wood frame and protected by a wood lintel.

Inside, the cottage features plank-and-muntin panelling, and there are slightly chamfered ceiling beams in the west and east rooms. The east room contains an open fireplace. A dog-leg staircase is located at the rear right of the central hallway. The floors throughout are flagstone.
