Description
Lindean is a detached farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with an enlargement added in the 17th century to the southeast. The building features rubblestone walls and a projecting staircase embrasure on the front wall, positioned beside the fireplace. It has a thatched roof with gable ends and stone gable copings. Brick stacks are located at the gable ends and at the ridge center, which backs onto a cross passage. The farmhouse is 1½ storeys high and has four windows, which include three light and two light wood casements with glazing bars from the 18th and 19th centuries. There are also four eyebrow dormers, each with two lights. The door, located left of center, leads into a through passage and is made of planks and muntins, studded with strap hinges from the 17th century. Inside, the current staircase, positioned on the back wall, was built in the late 17th century.
