Description

Brookside is a row of three cottages dating from the mid-19th century, situated in Nether Compton village. The cottages are constructed of dressed stone with a slate roof, featuring gable ends and stone gable copings. Early 20th-century brick stacks are located on the left-hand gable, two on the ridge (within the party walls), and one on the right-hand gable. The cottages are two storeys high and have a regular fenestration pattern with six windows. Each window is a 3-light wooden casement with glazing bars and wooden sills, set within a segmental stone head. Plank doors in wooden frames are positioned at the centre of each cottage, and are of 19th-century origin. Brookside was originally listed in conjunction with buildings named "Corner."
