Description
No. 228 Preston Road is a detached house dated 1740, constructed of rubble with a thatched roof. It features a two-room central-entry plan and stands two storeys high with two windows, which are small two-light small-pane casements. The entrance is a plank door, above which is a panel inscribed with "AKC(G?) 1740". There are small brick gable stacks on the building. The interior has not been inspected. The rear of the cottage is adjacent to Manor Cottage, and it is part of a compact group of early buildings that remain in this area of the village.
