Description
1 and 3 Church Road is a mid-19th century house and shop located in Weymouth. The building features coursed rubble with brick dressings and slate roofs. Number 3 is a wide-frontage house that forms the end of a row and is connected by a low range to Number 1, which is a single-storey block. Number 1 has a small square light and a full-height 19th-century shop front, making it an important link unit. Number 3 has two storeys with three windows, featuring 9-over-12 pane sash windows with brick dressings, stone keys, and stone sills. The front door, centered in a brick arch with a keystone, is a 20th-century addition beneath a blank tympanum. The keystones appear to be decorative rather than structural. The building has brick quoins at both ends and brick gable stacks. The rear includes 20th-century casements and a lean-to that spans part of the width. The interior has not been inspected.
