Description

These are a pair of semi-detached cottages on Preston Road, Weymouth, dating from the early 19th century. They are built of rubble and have thatched roofs. Each cottage is two storeys high with one window to the front, featuring a 12-pane horizontal sliding sash window set beneath a wooden lintel. A plank door is located to the left of each window. A single light window is on the left-hand gable of each cottage, and at the rear, each has a large three-light casement window within an eyebrow projection, plus a slated lean-to addition. Small brick gable stacks are present. The interiors have not been inspected. The cottages are largely unaltered externally and contribute to the character of this part of the village, forming a notable group.
