Description
170 and 172 High Street is a shop located in Aldeburgh. Number 170 is an early 19th-century building, while number 172 was added in the later 19th century. The two were combined into a single space in the late 20th century.
The exterior of number 170 features a two-storey front with a gable end facing the street. It has an early 19th-century display window and a recessed doorway to the left of the window, along with a 6/6 horned sash window on the first floor. Number 172 has a single-storey front with a partly glazed six-panelled door to the left of a canted bay window that includes margin glazed sashes. The buildings are constructed from plastered and colourwashed brick, topped with pantile roofs and a wall stack on the south side.
Inside, both sections have been opened up to create a single space.
