Description

BEAMINSTER FLEET STREET, (EAST SIDE) ST 4701/4801 7/67 County Library with flat above, (former R.D.C. Offices) GV II

County Library, formerly Rural District Council Offices. Early C19. Ashlar stone walls with plinth. Rendered string-course divisions flush with the surface. Slate roof with gable-ends and stone gable-copings. 3 storeys. 4 windows, sashes with glazing-bars. Stone cills. Smaller windows to ground floor. Carriage entrance at left hand, rusticated stone jambs with a rusticated elliptical head. Doorway in bay 2, now to Ladies. Doorway to right of this, with elliptical head and good voussoirs with "Town Offices" painted on. 2-leaf door with flush panels.
