Description

Pines is a late 18th-century building that serves as the premises for Pines Ltd., a house and attached grocers. The house features ashlar stone walls and a slate roof with stone gable copings, along with brick stacks at both the left and right gables. It is two storeys tall and has five windows, which are sashes with glazing bars and wooden frames. The front door is centrally located, wooden, six-panelled, and topped with a semi-circular fanlight that has curvilinear glazing bars. The door surround is reeded with panelled reveals, and there are iron railings along the street.

The attached shop on the right side is also two storeys high and has two windows. It has a slate roof and features two bow windows with an integral door at the centre. Each bow window has glazing bars, creating a total of 28 panes. Above the bow windows is a continuous moulded wood cornice. The shop door has a reeded surround and a rectangular fanlight with intersecting glazing bars. The door itself is wooden with glass panels above, dating from the 20th century. At the rear of the premises, there is a continuous outshut under the original roof.
