Description

Colsons is a mid-19th century house and ironmongers' shop located on the north side of The Square in Beaminster. The building features lias rubble walls and a slate roof that extends along Fleet Street. It stands two storeys tall and has three sash windows with glazing bars and flush wooden cases facing The Square. The shop front is distinguished by ironwork columns and capitals, complemented by traceried iron spandrels and large glass panes set on a rendered plinth. The central front door is made of wood with one glass panel, while the door to the right, leading to number 7, has six flush panels with a glass light above. The jambs and lintel of this door are rendered and date from the 19th century.
