Description
59 Damgate Street is a late 18th-century house that was originally a shop. It is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and is arranged in three bays. The central entrance has a panelled door set within a timber doorcase. To the right of the door is the main shop display window, which has been replaced in the late 19th century but still retains its bowed lintel and hood-box. To the left of the door, there is a late 19th-century sash window that also features a hood-box. On the first floor, there are two late 19th-century sash windows separated by a blind window. The roof is gabled, and there is a gabled cross wing at the rear that carries a stack.
