Description

57 Damgate Street is a house dating from the late 17th century and later. It is built of brick and has been whitewashed on the front. The roof is covered with pantiles and the building has two storeys with two first-floor bays. To the right, there is an early 18th-century panelled door. Immediately to the left, there is a 19th-century horned sash window with glazing bars, which is set under a segmental arch. On the first floor, there are two similar sash windows, each under straight heads. The house has a gabled roof and features a heavy brick internal gable-end stack on the north side, with a rear cross wing that also has a stack. The interior has not been inspected but may be of interest.
