Description
60 and 62 Damgate Street are two houses dating from the 17th century and later. They are constructed of whitewashed brick and feature a pantile roof. The buildings stand two storeys high and have two central doors; the door on the right is a plank door that provides access to a passage leading to the rear, while the second door is located to the right of the elevation. Both house doors are from the 20th century.
The ground floor is illuminated by three 3-light late 18th century casements, which are set beneath segmental arches. There is a platband at the first floor level, where four 3-light late 17th century casements are found. The eaves cornice is saw-toothed, and block pilasters frame the elevation on both the right and left sides. The roof is gabled and features rebuilt internal gable-end stacks at both the north and south ends.
