Description

The Community Hall, built in 1879, is located on Damgate Street in Wymondham. This two-storey building is constructed of red brick with gault brick dressings and features a slate roof. The three-bay facade is defined by the west gable facing the street, which is enhanced by four rusticated gault brick pilasters that rise to a dentil cornice made of the same material. The facade includes a dentilated pediment and a central entrance that has been bricked-in, along with one fixed window with glazing bars in each of the outer bays. On the first floor, there are two central round-headed sash windows and a larger round-headed sash window in the flanking bays. A date plaque in the pediment indicates the year of construction as 1879. The north side of the building features six stepped buttresses. This hall is included for its group value.
