Description
Wyekham Cottage, also known as Fernleigh, is a building dating from the 18th to 19th century located on Long Street. It is two storeys high and features a slate roof with a colourwashed rendered front and a plinth. The cottage has two window bays on the upper floor, each with small two-light casements positioned just below the eaves. On the ground floor to the left, there is a doorway framed by narrow panelled pilasters, an architrave, and a cornice, leading to a six-panel door with the top two panels glazed. To the right, there is a modern three-light window, also flanked by similar pilaster strips and topped with a plain board. Fernleigh has one window bay and a door, with a doorway that includes narrow panelled pilasters, an architrave, and a cornice. The first floor features a two-light casement, while below it, there is a sash window with glazing bars. Wyekham Cottage and Fernleigh are part of a group that includes several other properties such as The Shell, Mistletoe Cottage, Fairfields, The Malt House, Eastfields, Tyndall, Linden, The Cottage, and Corner House.
