Description
Corby House and Hill View Lodge is a 19th-century building located on Long Street. It features a high three-storey façade with three windows, finished in stucco. The eaves are adorned with modillion blocks along the soffit. The sash windows, which originally had glazing bars, now have these removed and are framed with moulded architraves. There is a decorative band across the front. The main doorway is highlighted by an architrave and cornice supported by enriched console brackets, leading to a four-panelled door topped with a rectangular fanlight. To the right, there is a one-bay addition that has a lower frontage and is set back slightly, with sash windows set in reveals. On the left side of the ground floor, there is a six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it. This building is part of a group that includes The Red House, Grey Lodge, forecourt walls and railings to The Red House, Donore, wall railings and gate to Donore, Eastbury House with its carriage entrance to the east and garden wall to the west, Elizabeth House, Bracondale, The Cedars, East Cedars, and the garden wall adjoining The Cedars on the west side, as well as Masongill, Glenville, and Long Street Post Office.
