Description
Glenville and Long Street Post Office is a mid to late 19th century building that stands two storeys high with an attic. It features three window bays and has a slate gabled roof with three gabled dormers. The front is rendered, resting on a stone plinth. The building has sash windows, although the horizontal glazing bars are missing. Glenville has a round-headed doorway with a plain fanlight and a four-flush panelled door. The Post Office section includes a small plate glass shop front with a fascia, cornice, and small voluted brackets. This building is part of a group that includes The Red House, Grey Lodge, forecourt walls and railings to The Red House, Donore, wall railings and gate to Donore, Eastbury House, including a carriage entrance to the east and a garden wall to the west, Elizabeth House, Bracondale, The Cedars, East Cedars, a garden wall adjoining The Cedars on the west side, Corby House, Hill View Lodge, and Masongill.
