Description

The War Memorial in Charmouth, dating from around 1920, commemorates those who died in the First World War. It is constructed from stone and features an octagonal plinth with a moulded base. The names of the deceased are inscribed on three brass plates, with an additional brass plate added later to honor those from the Second World War. The memorial includes an octagonal, tapering cross-shaft that has a moulded base and a foliage capital with a moulded abacus. The cross itself is designed with octagonal sections and terminal stops.
