Description
Monk's Rest is a detached house, formerly known as Applegarth, dating from the mid-18th century. It features stone walls that are rendered and a slate roof with gable ends, along with stone gable copings. The house has rendered brick stacks at both the left and right gables. It is two storeys tall and has three windows, which are wooden sashes without glazing bars. The front door, which is from the 18th century, has flush panelling and two lights above it. There is a 20th-century porch that includes tall glazed wooden double doors and a pitched asbestos slate roof. This building is included for its group value.
